While We Were Out

As you can imagine, while we took a blog break...a few noteworthy events happened in our lives. Instead of including them all in one post...and then failing to post again for some time(not the most popular way to go I've learned), I've decided to spread them out over a few different posts. So, first on my list, and he won't be happy about this, Adam!

Some of you know that Adam had to take his final oral surgery boards in February to become board certified. So naturally he started studying the first weekend in January. And when I say weekend, I mean a few hours on Saturday. So he gets to the Boards in Dallas on Valentines day and sees some of his buddies from his program. They tell him that they've been studying for months and months, they've taken all kinds of review coarses, and two of them that lived in the same state had met up on the weekends to go over different oral surgery case senarios.

So the next day he took the board and we had to wait about 6 weeks to find out.

Of course he passed-we all knew he would. It's official! Adam is now board certified! Yea!

So...a long awaited CONGRATS to the most brilliant man I know. I don't know alot of people who could study as little as he did and still do amazing. He's so awesome!

Guilty As Charged

The charge?

Wreckless abandonment...of my blog.

Sentence?

Up for suggestions...I'm sure something along the lines of a promise to blog more frequently, and I suppose I could offer up an apology for such a delay in an update.

So...here's to my new found effort, to live up to the responsibility of a blog owner.

Oh, and a special thanks to all the pressure from family and friends to get my bootie in gear and get blogging already...you are such loyal viewers.

Love you all!

To one of the Greats!

Happy Birthday to one of the GREATEST people I know. Just wanted you to know that on this special day we were thinking of you!

Oh, and cute pictures! (Be There) You were such a cute kid!

You really are one of a kind. Everyone who knows you, loves you!

Funny story about Robert: Robert was having surgery on his finger. Well the kids and I went to pick him up after it was all done. Upon given the instruction to remind Robert to "buddy tape and elevate" the nurse told me that they all just loved having Robert there for the day. Now I must note here that they made him wait about 6 hours to have his "scheduled" surgery. I don't know about you guys...but after about an hour they would have been telling me not to let the door hit me on the way out! Yet several times she told me "We just really enjoyed having Robert here today, he was such a pleasure to be around." That, my friend, says alot about you! Of course him going off about Opera (while on anesthesia of course) would prove to be quite entertaining....but that is a story for Robert to tell!

Anyway, thanks for letting us celebrate your big day with you!

Happy B-day Roberrrr! We love you!

Christmas

Christmas time has long been one of my favorite times of year. For most of my life, when the season would near and the anticipation of Christmas grew stronger with every passing day...this is what I would picture:

Christmas as a kid!
There is nothing like it!
And for us Snidemans...it was always the same routine.

Dad would send us to bed letting us know that he wasn't able to do much this christmas...and yet christmas morning we would rush downstairs to find present after present almost extending beyond the room. Santa always came...sometimes he had little helpers...sometimes he managed it all by himself. But he always came.

I remember we'd make as much noise as it took to wake dad up. Then, as always, he'd start up the hot chocolate that we'd drink before dividing out the gifts . The big waffle breakfast would follow the much anticipated unwrapping.

As the day draws closer, it makes me think of how, as I've gotten older, christmas has changed a bit.
Of course it becomes more about the spiritual meaning...(but I'm sure if you wanted the sermon on that you would be reading the bible instead of my blog...so I'll keep it about the "wordly" christmas)
I'll never forget how christmas felt to me for so many years...but now christmas morning brings a new picture to mind:

It's been fun to see how it's changed for me...

...to teach my kids the true meaning of christmas...

...To build new holiday traditions with my little family...

...to have them experience the 'magic' of christmas...

...to see their excitement that morning...

Now...this is the christmas I live for!

LAWDAWG...this one's for you!

For those of you who don't know, Dave, Adam's brother, took the Virginia Bar a couple of months ago. And why, in this day and age of technology, it takes so long to get the results back is beyond me. Anyway, after months of waiting and anticipation, we finally heard the great news. Our little Lawdawg is an official "Lawdawg".

Dave and Tre, we just wanted to say Congrats!! We're so proud of you! Now hurry and come visit so we can celebrate!

G & D Inc.

Ok Dad and Debbie...the pressure is on! I am taking a poll so you can see what the public wants!
We want to know whats going on in your lives...and as computer savvy as we know you both are...a blog is a perfect way for us to hear more about you guys. Especially since we can't see and talk to you busy folk as much as we'd like.
So...let your audience decide if you must. But my prediction is that everyone would love a blog from the parentals:)

We love you...we'll be waiting!

A Very Special Day

It's Grandpa's Birthday!!!

So grandpa, on your big day, we wanted you to know that...

We love you more than words can say!!!

Thank you for all that you do...and for all that you are...

We wouldn't change one thing about you.

You've been the best Grandpa and...You've been the best DAD!

Chameleon

You think West and I look alike? I'd say you can see the relation!

But you know...if I had a few baby pictures of Ad on here....you'd be sayin...'He looks like his dad!'

Our kids have that unique ability to look like whichever parent is holding them at the time...we just love our chameleon babies!

Down on the Farm

Ike's home away from home...the barn!

If he's not out riding on the tractor...than he's tearin' it up on his little ATV!

Most of the time, however, he is picking up rocks, sticks, horse manuer, yes I said horse manuer(luckily for us it hasn't been the steamy stuff)...or whatever else he can find to play with.

He fits right in with the horses.

Much to his mother's dismay, he'll even drink the same water. (Don't be shocked when one of these days I post a picture of him, and he's grown a third eye.) Yikes!
He's very proud of his outdoor palace! And he's even made it his personal duty to show little brother the ropes!

West doesn't quite know what to think of all this yet!

BUT...

We think he's warming up to it!

One thing we know for sure is...it doesn't really set us up for a positive response when undoubtedly someday we'll ask(refering, of course, to his manners)..."where were you raised...in a barn?"
